Role Description This full-time, on-site Accountant role is based in Nigeria and supports the financial operations of ICC Contractors. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts on a regular basis. Daily tasks include managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring project costs, assisting with budget preparation, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, and collaborating with project teams to provide timely financial insights. The Accountant will work closely with management to support audits, improve financial processes, and help maintain strong internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and cost control, ideally within construction or project-based environments.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and basic data analysis.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to interpret financial data and provide clear recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and project teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in construction, engineering, or infrastructure companies is preferred, as well as familiarity with local tax and regulatory requirements.
