Job Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise and carrier-grade network infrastructure to support business and operational requirements.
- Perform configuration changes, software upgrades, and patching of network devices includingCisco, Juniper, and Nokiaequipment.
- Deploy and integrate network equipment to supportVerizon Wireless (VZW)infrastructure and related network initiatives.
- Build and configure routers, switches, and network cabinets, ensuring proper hardware installation and connectivity.
- Develop and maintain detailedMethods of Procedure (MOPs)for nighttime and implementation engineers, ensuring accurate, safe, and repeatable execution.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization and reliability improvements.
- Implement and enforce network security best practices, including access controls, hardening, and compliance with security standards.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple environments, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, field engineers, and vendors to ensure successful deployments and changes.
- Participate in network change management processes, including risk assessment, validation, and rollback planning.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and operations teams as needed.
- Ensure network designs and implementations align with industry standards, organizational policies, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Required Skill: Expert proficiency in Network Engineering at least 3 years
- Additional Good To Have Skills: Experience with Network Infrastructures.
- Must have experience in Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia equipment
- Strong understanding of network protocols and architectures.
- Experience in configuring and managing network devices such as routers and switches.
- Proficient in network security practices and tools.
- Ability to analyze network performance and implement improvements.
