● Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a
related field (or equivalent practical experience).
● Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a network operations, technical support, or
junior network administration role handling escalated environments.
● Foundational Networking: Strong understanding of core Layer 3 concepts (IPv4/IPv6
addressing, subnetting, static and dynamic routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, and
BGP, VRFs).
● Hardware & Cloud Exposure: Foundational knowledge or hands-on exposure to Cisco
IOS/NX-OS, Palo Alto PAN-OS, and cloud routing structures (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure
Route Tables, or Alibaba VPC routers). Relevant associate-level certifications (e.g.,
CCNA, PCNSA) or cloud fundamentals certifications are a plus.
● Incident Management & Tooling: Familiarity with incident management frameworks
and ITIL ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow). Experience with packet capture or
diagnostic tools is a plus.
● Documentation Skills: Exceptional technical writing and diagramming skills using tools
like Google G Suite, Confluence, or Lucidchart.
● Attributes: Calm under pressure, highly organized, process-oriented, with excellent
communication skills to interface with stakeholders during critical events.
● Familiarity with Terraform and GitLab for network infrastructure-as-code or version control is an advantage.
