Job Summary
As a Network Engineer you'll be responsible for delivering both projects and operational support to the organization's global network of sites. You will coordinate with organization's support staff, third parties, and carriers on Level-1 and above portions of the network, from end-users utilizing VPN connections, our Regional Sales Offices, Distribution Centers, and Headquarters Staff to cloud service providers. This is a hands-on role.
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of the Network Engineering team to deliver operational support and tactical projects in a reliable and predicable manner.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and backup of network devices utilizing SolarWinds Orion.
- Coordinate circuit installations, upgrades, handoffs, terminations, and troubleshooting with carriers and LECs.
- Produce network diagrams illustrating the current and future state of the BDA network.
- Coordinate the installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware and configuration in support of site moves and Level 1 activities through third parties.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes such as Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
- Implement configuration changes supporting network operations including port assignments, firewall rule application, creation of DMZs, SSID configuration, circuit activations, switch replacements, and other routine activities.
- Oversee the work of third parties who perform work on behalf of the Infrastructure Team to achieve our mission.

- Excellent, self-driven, detail orientation in a multi-tasking environment. Must be able to spend extended periods of time on the phone, handle multiple call and problems simultaneously, and follow-through to issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or High school diploma/equivalent or 5+ of relevant experience
- ITIL v3 Foundations or later certification is preferred
- Other certifications, such as CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent are preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Operations or Network Engineering function
- Experience in operating and managing Network Monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds Orion
- Experience with Layer 2 & 3 (OSPF, BGP) networks utilizing Juniper or Cisco network switches and routers
- Background in coordinating with carriers for circuit installations, handoffs, upgrades, and outage remediation
- Experience in Wireless Networking (802.11), Network Access Control (802.x), AAA, Firewalls, and/or SD-WAN.
