Network Engineer L2 - Job Description

The Network Engineer L2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise network

infrastructure. This role involves handling escalated technical issues, configuring network devices, monitoring network

performance, and ensuring secure and stable connectivity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.

• Monitor LAN/WAN network performance and resolve connectivity issues.

• Handle escalated tickets from Level 1 support teams.

• Support VPN, remote access, and network security configurations.

• Perform network device upgrades, patching, and firmware updates.

• Maintain documentation for network topology, configurations, and changes.

• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams during incidents and maintenance activities.

• Ensure network uptime, performance, and compliance with security policies.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.

• Knowledge of VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and routing/switching protocols.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto technologies.

• Experience with firewall configuration and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Wireshark.

• Basic understanding of Linux and Windows server networking.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate

• CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional

• JNCIA – Juniper Networks Certified Associate

• PCNSA – Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator

Experience Requirements• 2–5 years of relevant network engineering experience.

• Experience in enterprise, telecom, ISP, or data center environments preferred.

• Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle critical incidents
