Network Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

The Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to streamline network operations, improve efficiency, and enhance reliability. This role involves scripting, configuration management, and integration of network devices and systems using automation tools and APIs

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain network automation script and tools using Python and Ansible

• Automate repetitive network tasks such as configuration deployment, validation and compliance checks, and monitoring

• Collaborate with network engineers, DevOps and system administrators to identify automation opportunities

• Integrate automation workflows with network management and orchestration platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst Center)

• Maintain detailed documentation of automation workflows, scripts and standard operating procedures

• Troubleshoot automation and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance

• Stay updated with emerging automation tools, network technologies, and industry best practices

• Implement and support Cisco network hardware (ISR, SDWAN, FTD/ASA, FMC, IOS-XE, IOS, NX-OS)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering and/or network automation

• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, YAML, JSON, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Velocity, Jinja)

• Has knowledge of implementing and troubleshooting Cisco network technologies - Catalyst, NX-OS, ISR, cEdge, ISE, FMC, FTD, ASA, DNAC, ACI and WLC
