Position Overview
The MuleSoft Integration Consultant / Architect is responsible for designing, delivering, and governing enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The role enables organisations to connect applications, data, and services across cloud, hybrid, on-premise, and SaaS environments using API-led connectivity principles.
Depending on seniority, the role may focus on hands-on integration delivery (Consultant) or enterprise integration architecture, platform standards, and governance (Architect). The role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, application teams, security architects, and platform teams to ensure integrations are secure, scalable, reusable, and supportable.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Design & Delivery
- Design and develop integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Implement API-led connectivity using System APIs, Process APIs and Experience APIs.
- Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, messaging, and data transformation.
- Integrate enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, HR, data platforms, and SaaS applications.
- Apply best practices for error handling, performance, and resilience.
Architecture & Standards (Architect Focus)
- Define MuleSoft integration architecture, patterns, and reference models.
- Establish API and integration standards, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Design reusable APIs and shared integration assets.
- Review and govern solution designs across delivery teams.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security, identity, and cloud standards.
Operations, Monitoring & Support
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using Anypoint Monitoring.
- Support CI/CD, deployment models, environment promotion, and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and performance issues.
- Contribute to operational documentation and support runbooks.
Collaboration & Advisory
- Work with business, application, data, and platform teams.
- Advise stakeholders on MuleSoft capabilities and API strategy.
- Mentor junior consultants and developers (Senior / Architect level).
Skills, Experience and Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Experience with API design (REST, RAML), data mapping, and orchestration.
- Understanding of API security, OAuth, and integration authentication patterns.
- Knowledge of cloud deployment models and integration best practices.
- Experience integrating SaaS and enterprise applications.
Experience (Role Level Determination)
MuleSoft Integration Architect
- 10–14+ years of overall IT experience.
- 7–10+ years of MuleSoft and integration architecture experience.
- Proven experience defining enterprise API and integration strategies.
MuleSoft Integration Consultant
- 6–8 years of overall IT experience.
- 4–6 years of hands-on MuleSoft integration experience.
- Strong focus on solution delivery and development.
Competencies
- Systems thinking in complex SI working effectively across complicated to complex integrations, adapts delivery approach (agile/waterfall/hybrid), and making sound decisions with potentially incomplete information.
- Delivery governance and assurance applying fit‑for‑purpose governance, decision records and quality controls to protect outcomes and minimise rework.
- Stakeholder and vendor management aligning multiple parties (client, vendors and delivery streams) to scope, milestones and technical standards.
- Commercial and requirements discipline clarifying assumptions, dependencies, risks and Customer Furnished Items (CFIs), and maintains requirements traceability and clear definition of done.
- Architecture-to-execution alignment translating solution intent into build‑ready artefacts (interfaces, data flows, controls, environments and sequencing) that engineering teams can execute with confidence.
- Secure-by-design delivery embedding security, privacy, identity and access controls into integration designs from day one (designed‑in, not bolted‑on).
- Reuse and acceleration leveraging reference architectures, patterns, standards and accelerators to increase delivery velocity and consistency.
- Operational readiness designing for run (monitoring, support model, runbooks and auditability) to ensure stable operations post go‑live.
Qualifications and Certifications
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (Consultant).
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (Architect).
- Cloud certifications (Azure / AWS - desirable).

Additional Requirements & Eligibility
- Right to work in the Philippines: must hold (and maintain) the appropriate visa/work authorisation for the role and assignment length.
- Hold a current passport suitable for business travel (including the ability to obtain visas as required) and be willing to travel where needed.
- Satisfy KPMG background screening and any client-specific screening requirements (which may include identity, criminal history, qualification, professional membership and other checks).
