Role Summary
This role is responsible for leading MuleSoft integration initiatives from analysis through execution, ensuring high-quality delivery, client satisfaction, and commercial contribution. The role combines deep technical expertise with project leadership, mentoring, and commercial engagement responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Development & Delivery
- Lead domain-specific MuleSoft solution design and architecture decisions
- Design, develop and deploy complex, scalable, highly available and reusable Mule applications and APIs
- Define API specifications and implement API-led connectivity solutions
- Perform code reviews and enforce secure coding and best practices
- Drive quality through code reviews, MUnit strategy, and CI/CD governance
- Conduct API testing and implement MUnit test cases
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and API specifications
- Manage production releases, deployments (including CloudHub), and configuration management
- Participate in user story discussions, task breakdown, and effort estimation
- Work independently with requirements and translate them into maintainable code
- Develop reusable integration frameworks, accelerators, and best practices
- Ensure adherence to secure coding and enterprise integration standards
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Lead semi-complex integration projects from planning through execution, ensuring client satisfaction
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Own delivery commitments including scope, quality, and timelines
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Mentor junior consultants and SMEs
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives
Support & Operations
- Investigate and resolve application and integration issues
- Assist support teams in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Provide knowledge transfer to operations/support teams
- Provide application support and IT operations support as required
On-Call & Hypercare Support
- Provide after-hours on-call support when required
- Support hypercare activities post-production release
- Be flexible in working hours based on customer needs
Client Engagement & Commercial Contribution
- Build strong customer relationships and trust
- Participate in or drive customer commercial meetings within own engagement
- Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities in existing engagements
- Support proposals, estimations, and pricing activities
- Be responsible for co-selling additional consultants into projects where relevant
Required Skills/Certification
- MuleSoft Developer Level 1 certified (at the minimum)
- 5+ years of overall IT experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- In-depth experience in defining API specifications, API implementation, and CloudHub deployment
- Strong experience with DataWeave 2.0
- CI/CD experience (preferably Azure DevOps)
- Strong knowledge of API-Led Connectivity and integration best practices
- Experience with REST/SOAP web services and Java development
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, TFS)
- Experience with RDBMS/SQL and messaging protocols (JMS, SFTP, SMTP)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Experience in working within regulated environments/industry (life science)
- Familiarity with GxP
- Familiarity with Veeva Vault Platform
