- This position will be physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP**

Under the supervision of the Heavy Equipment Mechanic Lead and/or various supervisors, performs the full range of field-level overhaul work on chassis group units of one or more types of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, gasoline or multi- fuel. Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
Responsibilities

- Performs the full range of repair and modification work on heavy/light equipment and vehicles powered by internal combustion
- Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and
- Service automotive electrical systems including wiring harness, and starting and charging
- Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or
- Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic
- Repairs, relines, replaces, and adjusts
- Follows checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome
- Follows repair procedures, using charts, and technical
- Tests and adjusts repaired systems to meet military performance
- Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-
- Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and
- Performs other duties as needed
Qualifications
- American National Qualifications
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License, is required.
- Apprenticeship in Light/Heavy Automobile Repair, Automotive Mechanic or similar preferred
- Approximately two (2) years experience as an electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance mechanic
- Working Conditions
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of over 85 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
- Physical Requirements
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
