Job Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Manager – US Mortgage Processing Leader to oversee end-to-end mortgage processing operations. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely loan movement from application through closing while delivering excellent borrower and client experience.
You will lead a high-performing team, drive operational efficiency, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including underwriting, origination, closing, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mortgage processors to ensure efficient loan processing from application to closing
- Oversee verification of borrower documents (income, credit, assets, appraisal, disclosures)
- Ensure compliance with US mortgage regulations (TILA, RESPA, Fair Housing, investor guidelines)
- Manage loan pipelines and ensure adherence to SLAs, cycle times, and funding targets
- Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and closers for seamless loan progression
- Implement quality control measures to ensure audit-ready and error-free files
- Drive process improvements using data and performance insights
- Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership review
- Lead training on LOS, AUS systems, investor updates, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 12+ years in US mortgage processing or mortgage operations
- At least 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong experience managing high-volume loan pipelines
- Proven expertise in regulatory compliance and investor guidelines (FNMA, FHA, VA, USDA)
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field (preferred)
- Certifications (e.g., Certified Mortgage Processor – CMP) are an advantage
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in LOS platforms (Encompass, Blend, Calyx)
- Experience with AUS systems (DU, LP)
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting, disclosures, and closing documentation
- Advanced Excel and reporting/dashboard skills
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with ability to identify and resolve process gaps
- Proven ability to coach and develop teams to meet KPIs and compliance standards
