About The Role
As a Model Validator, you will be responsible in validating and ensuring implementation of risk models such as Expected Credit Loss models, Internal Risk Rating models, application and behavioral scorecards, and Market Risk models for various bank portfolios. This is to support risk management and ensure regulatory compliance.
How You'll Contribute
- Assesses the data used in the development using exploratory data analysis to confirm that a robust database was used for risk modeling. Evaluates completeness of data by understanding fundamental business concepts and policies to cover essential information that is critical in the model development and validation
- Identifies risks associated with developed models using the regular validation reports to confirm that models remain appropriate for the given portfolio
- Recommends solutions or alternatives through the validation document to address model deficiencies or to further improve the developed model
- Validates risk models by performing comprehensive qualitative and quantitative review across the five broad areas of data, methodology, documentation, processes, and governance to comply with the bank's validation standards
- Documents the model validation process detailing the inputs, processes, and outputs to ensure model soundness and suitability. Generates model validation reports using updated account information and performance to ensure that models remain appropriate for a given portfolio
- Maintains the model inventory by keeping an up-to-date catalogue of all implemented, developed, and recently discontinued models to consider the boundaries of the models potentially impacted by the risk
What We're Looking For
- Must be a bachelor's degree holder in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or any related course
- With at least 2 years of experience in Risk/Business Analytics, Quantitative Modelling, Risk Management
- Knowledge of various risk modeling techniques and knowledge of Financial products and trading and liquidity management business
- Proficient in developing templates to validate model-generated output e.g. MS Excel. Proficient in data processing software e.g. SAS or R and statistical modeling methodologies
- Good project management skills
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and regulators
