Arca is a talent agency connecting exceptional Filipino professionals with ambitious U.S. companies. For this opportunity, Arca's client is looking for a Mobile Engineer who can build, improve, and maintain high-quality applications across iOS and Android.

The opportunity

You will own meaningful parts of the mobile development lifecycle—from understanding user problems and shaping the technical approach to writing production code, testing the experience, and releasing updates through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

This is a hands-on role for someone who cares about more than making a feature work. You think about how the app feels to the user, how it performs on real devices, how it will be maintained, and what could go wrong after release.

What you will own

• Build and maintain reliable, polished mobile experiences for iOS and Android.

• Turn product requirements and designs into clear technical plans and production-ready features.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Integrate REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication services, analytics platforms, and third-party SDKs.

• Make thoughtful architecture decisions involving state, navigation, data persistence, offline behavior, and background processes.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in constructive code reviews.

• Test and debug applications across operating-system versions, devices, screen sizes, and real-world network conditions.

• Investigate crashes, performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and production defects.

• Improve app startup time, responsiveness, stability, accessibility, and overall user experience.

• Support build automation, mobile CI/CD, signing, release management, and store submissions.

• Monitor application health and user behavior using analytics, crash reporting, and performance-monitoring tools.

• Communicate progress, tradeoffs, risks, and blockers clearly to technical and non-technical teammates.

• Help strengthen engineering standards, documentation, and mobile development practices as the product grows.

Must-have requirements

• At least 3 years of professional mobile application development experience.

• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining applications for both iOS and Android.

• Strong proficiency in either native mobile development with Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or cross-platform development with React Native/TypeScript or Flutter/Dart.

• Ability to work with native platform code, SDKs, permissions, build systems, and platform-specific behavior when required.

• Experience shipping or supporting production applications published in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, reusable components, state management, asynchronous programming, and application lifecycles.

• Experience integrating backend APIs, authentication flows, push notifications, deep links, analytics, and third-party services.

• Practical knowledge of automated testing, debugging, Git-based workflows, mobile CI/CD, performance, security, and privacy.

• Strong written and verbal English communication and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice-to-have requirements

• Experience with both native and cross-platform mobile development.

• Experience modernizing, refactoring, or taking ownership of an existing production application.

• Familiarity with Firebase, AWS, Supabase, or comparable cloud services.

• Experience with subscriptions, in-app purchases, mobile payments, maps, camera, location, or other device capabilities.

• Knowledge of accessibility, localization, and internationalization.

• Backend or full-stack development experience.

• Experience working with a U.S.-based startup or distributed product team.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools while critically reviewing their output.
