What is your mission

We are looking for a Mining Production Engineer to plan, design and coordinate day-to-day underground mining operations, develop ring and blast plans, uphold health, safety, and environmental compliance, and deliver accurate engineering plans and schedules. You will liaise with geologists and engineers, visit underground mine, optimize production and costs, support ventilation and surveys, check drilling and charging, and issue plans on time to maintain production continuity.

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Develop and implement plans to coordinate day-to-day underground mining operations to meet forecast targets, communicating plans with supervisors and relevant personnel.
  • Identify and communicate risks involving health, safety, and environmental impacts, and ensure compliance with OH&S standards, including reporting hazards, incidents, and maintaining proper housekeeping.
  • Deliver timely and accurate engineering plans and schedules, ensuring all activities comply with statutory and site requirements.
  • Design ring and blast plans and ensure they are issued on time to support continuous production.
  • Conduct weekly underground mine visits to maintain working knowledge of conditions, verify that drilling and charging follow design, and record hazards into the hazard register with communicated corrective actions.
  • Liaise with geologists and engineers regarding stope designs and operational impacts.
  • Perform tasks related to ventilation work, surveys, development heading designs, and assist with weekly and monthly scheduling.
  • Maintain communication with internal and external parties, provide updates on project or plant item status, and preserve confidentiality of personnel and site information.
  • Optimize costs and minimize wastage by rapidly communicating physicals and counter-physicals to support timely decision-making for operational improvements.
  • Support environmental compliance by maintaining required records, joining audits, surveys, and inspections, developing strong community relationships, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality, reporting fit for work, and ensuring all activities support smooth site operations.

Who are we looking for

  • Mining Engineering Degree from a recognized institution.
  • 25 years experience in underground Mining Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with drill and blast operations is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency or exposure to Surpac, RINGKing, Vulcan, or other mining software; strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of duty of care, NSW mining law, and OH&S law, including application of PPE, workplace inspections, and hazard reporting practices.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed.
  • Strong communication, coordination skills, stakeholder updates, confidentiality, safety mindset, cost-awareness, reliability, punctuality, and ability to encourage respectful, open communication.
