Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Safety Engineer who is a Licensed Mining Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety, health, and regulatory compliance across our mining operations. He will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and enforce mine safety policies, procedures, and programs
• Ensure compliance with national mining, occupational safety, and environmental regulations
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox meetings, drills, and continuous safety training programs
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and management teams to integrate safety into daily activities
• Monitor safety performance metrics and recommend improvements
• Prepare and submit required safety documentation and regulatory reports
• Serve as a safety adviser during mine planning, operations, and emergency response situations
Qualifications:
• Licensed Mining Engineer
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
• Proven experience in mine safety, health, or related engineering roles
• Strong knowledge of mining safety laws, standards, and best practices
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to conduct field inspections and work in mining environments
• Proficient in report writing and safety documentation
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in surface and/or underground mining operations
• Training in occupational health, risk management, or emergency response
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
