Job Description:

The Middle Mile Lead will be managing the day-to-day operation and performance of the Middle Mile Function. The person will work closely with the Middle Mile Management Team on Vehicle Resource Management Allocation, Inter Island and Vehicle Resource Management Monitoring.

  • Working with VRM Allocation Lead, IIS Lead, VRM Monitoring Lead and Coordinators to manage Middle Mile activities that provide best productivity and economics that fit SPX operations.
  • Monitor and follow up on daily performance of driver management and operation. Highlight and address issues related to below par performance, prepare, and execute the corrective action plans.
  • Leading projects to install new route operations, execute planning, and implement management processes for effective route operations and management.
  • Integrating route operations into SPX sortation center models, hub network and fleet management for exceptional service, capacity management and target economics
  • Coaching and mentoring the team to achieve high level of customer service, good economics and effective operations through best in practice of route design, route balancing and management.
  • Hire, train, and manage Middle Mile Leads for the effective oversight and management of routes on a day-to-day basis.
  • Understanding how SPX move from where we are now to effectively integrated pickup into sortation center operations and hub operations.
  • Collaborating with dedicated professionals across SPX operations in the areas of hub deployment, sortation center development, fleet management and effective delivery that delights SPX customers
  • Actively involved in continuous improvement to improve route performance from time to time
  • Preparation and submission of reports and dashboards
  • Periodically review and recommend for changes in Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) related to Middle Mile.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years managerial experience in Logistics/Transport operation/Supply Chain for Operations / Area Manager position.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, good analytical skill, able to translate and interpret data
  • Able to conduct presentation to Senior Management team
  • Demonstrated people management experience in an operational environment with direct reports responsibility
  • Proven analytical skills and operational management skills
  • Attention to detail in Productivity Management
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills in Local Language and English
  • Proven ability in leading a team in a result-oriented environment
  • Commitment and ability to adjust and work on non-standard hours for long term (shifts and nights)
