JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Mid-Level Spanish-Bilingual Accountant / Bookkeeper to support a US-based client with day-to-day accounting and financial reporting. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, experience with US accounting practices, and the ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working remotely with international stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records (AR, AP, General Ledger)
  • Record and reconcile bank, credit card, and intercompany transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Handle invoicing, billing, and collections when required
  • Prepare supporting schedules for tax filings (sales tax, payroll, etc.)
  • Communicate with Spanish- and English-speaking clients or vendors regarding financial matters
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting controls
  • Support audits and provide documentation as needed
  • Perform other accounting and bookkeeping tasks as assigned

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Spanish: Conversational to fluent (spoken and written)
  • English: Fluent (spoken and written)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Exposure to US GAAP and US accounting processes
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations)
  • Experience using cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.)

  • CPA or ongoing CPA review (not required)
  • Prior experience supporting US-based clients
  • Experience working with Spanish-speaking clients (US, LATAM, or Europe)
  • Prior experience in accounting firms or outsourced accounting services
  • Experience in shared services, BPO, or outsourcing
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and sales tax reporting
