What you do as a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer (Water & Maritime)

As a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer (Water & Maritime), you will apply your solid technical background in geotechnical engineering to support water and/or maritime projects in the Philippines. You will work closely with the senior geotechnical engineer, project leads, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver highquality and impactful projects.

You will be involved in project delivery across all stages, from supporting proposal development and concept designs to detailed design and construction management. Your role will be a mix of officebased engineering work and site activities, providing you with strong exposure to practical geotechnical engineering while working alongside experienced national and international colleagues.

In this role, you will contribute to geotechnical assessments, including site investigations, data interpretation, and geotechnical analyses, while progressively developing your technical expertise and responsibility within project teams.

What you bring

As a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer, you will support geotechnical work on projects in the Philippines and contribute to the delivery of water and maritime projects under the guidance of the senior geotechnical engineer and project leads. You will work on projects ranging from multidisciplinary developments to smaller assignments requiring focused geotechnical input. You will be involved through all stages of the project, including:

  • supporting the preparation of proposals and contributing to the development of concept and detailed geotechnical designs, leading to construction management
  • assisting in the planning and supervision of site investigations and in the preparation of Terms of Reference for soil investigations
  • interpreting geotechnical data and supporting geotechnical risk assessments (e.g. settlement, liquefaction, slope stability analyses)
  • supporting seismic response analyses in coordination with senior engineers and international experts, including contributions to Engineering Geological and Geohazard Assessment Reports (EGGAR)
  • using advanced geotechnical software (e.g. Deltares tools, PLAXIS, and similar) to support geotechnical analyses and designs under supervision
  • preparing technical calculations, figures, drawings, and inputs for geotechnical design reports and technical deliverables
  • providing geotechnical support during construction phases, including site visits, field observations, and coordination with contractors
  • collaborating with experienced national and international colleagues, supporting both office based design and site based construction management teams
  • liaising, under guidance, with clients, authorities, contractors, and specialist consultants on technical matters
  • contributing to the timely and high quality delivery of project outputs in line with company and client expectations

Requirements:

  • minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other relevant field; a Master's degree is an advantage
  • licensed Civil Engineer
  • at least 5-8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering works, with significant exposure to water, maritime, coastal, land reclamation, and flood resilience projects within a consultancy environment
  • demonstrated experience working in international, multicultural, and diverse environments, with a collaborative approach and ability to work across sectoral and regional boundaries
  • proven ability in writing proposals, planning, and running multidisciplinary projects, from concept to detailed design and construction management
  • capable of undertaking assignments to achieve technically sound, timely, and cost-effective results
  • experience in geotechnical data interpretation, risk assessments (settlement, liquefaction, slope stability, etc.) and site investigation supervision (borehole drilling, CPT, geophysical survey, etc.)
  • understanding of and competence in digital ways of working
