The work:

As a Microsoft Teams/Voice Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and operational support of enterprise voice and contact center solutions, primarily focused on Microsoft Teams Voice and cloud‑based telephony. The role ensures reliable, secure, and high‑quality voice services by managing SBCs, call routing, and integrations with telecom carriers and contact center platforms, while partnering with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support Microsoft Teams Voice solutions (Direct Routing, Calling Plans, Operator Connect)
  • Deploy and manage Ribbon SBC 1000 / Ribbon SBC 2000 and Ribbon SBC 8000 SeriesConfigure SIP trunks, dial plans, voice routing policies, and interoperability with telecom carriers
  • Work with networking, QoS, firewalls, and Microsoft 365 settings.
  • Understands SIP, RTP and core Telephony.
  • Perform troubleshooting for Call quality issues, understanding/Experince of call flows, signaling (SIP), media issues, and QoS
  • Manage certificate lifecycle (installation, renewal, troubleshooting) on SBCs and Teams environment
  • Monitor and optimize voice infrastructure performance and availability
  • Work with vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Ribbon, carriers) for issue resolution

  • Contact Center (WxCC) Responsibilities:

  • Support and integrate Webex Contact Center (WxCC) with Teams and voice infrastructure
  • Configure call flows, queues, agents, and reporting
  • Troubleshoot call routing, agent issues, and media paths

  • Here's what you'll need:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Teams Voice / Direct Routing
  • Direct routing using SBCs particularly Ribbon SBC. Hands-on with Ribbon SBC 1K/2K and 8K series
  • Solid understanding of SIP, VoIP, RTP/RTCP, and networking fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies.
  • Experience with certificate management and security (TLS, SRTP)
  • Knowledge of Webex Contact Center (WxCC) or similar CCaaS platforms
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting tools (logs, traces, packet capture)
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or other related fields.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and best practices in cloud environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience required
  • Must be amenable to rotating shifts on a hybrid set up at Uptown BGC office

  • Good to Have:

  • Experience with PowerShell for Teams administration
  • Knowledge of Cisco voice / collaboration solutions
  • Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid environments
