Job Summary
This is a senior-level role within the Business Intelligence domain, focused on Microsoft Power BI Administration. The position requires deep expertise in managing and optimizing Power BI environments and leading complex, high-impact initiatives. The role involves working independently, providing advisory support to management and stakeholders, and ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of Power BI platforms. The individual will also act as a technical leader, driving best practices, automation, and continuous platform improvements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate across support teams to resolve Power BI service disruptions, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
- Approve production readiness of Power BI solutions and application deployments
- Monitor performance trends and proactively address risks impacting platform stability
- Manage Power BI platform components, including:
- Workspace management
- Report and dashboard optimization
- Gateway configuration
- Licensing administration
- Oversee code management and deployment processes using automation tools such as Python, Terraform, and Ansible
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
- Lead initiatives such as platform upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical issue resolution
- Analyze capacity utilization and drive optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement performance improvements
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend platform enhancements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Power BI Administration
- Strong knowledge of Power BI platform components and administration
- Experience in migration and deployment automation across environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod) using tools such as Python and Ansible
- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis
- Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
- Ability to work independently and lead critical incident resolution efforts
- Willingness to participate in on-call and off-hour support
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
