Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft Power BI Administration and Microsoft Fabric Administration.
- Administer and optimize the Power BI platform, including workspace management, report development, dashboard optimization, gateway configuration, and license management.
- Coordinate with support teams to resolve Power BI service disruptions, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Review and approve production readiness for Power BI solutions and application deployments.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity utilization, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Manage code promotion and deployment across Development, Test, Staging, and Production environments using automation tools.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Terraform, and Ansible to improve deployment and operational efficiency.
- Lead or support platform upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and optimization initiatives.
- Implement governance, security, and best practices for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments.
- Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to organizational standards and policies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical production incidents as required.
- Stay current with emerging Business Intelligence technologies and recommend platform enhancements.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in Microsoft Power BI Administration and Optimization.
- Experience administering Microsoft Fabric environments.
- In-depth knowledge of: Power BI Workspace Management, Report Development, Dashboard Optimization, Power BI Gateway Administration, Capacity and License Management
- Experience managing deployments across multiple environments using automation tools.
- Proficiency with: Python, Terraform, Ansible
- Experience performing performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other Business Intelligence platforms such as: Qlik, MicroStrategy, SAP BusinessObjects
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques for problem investigation.
- Experience in enterprise production support environments.
- Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure certifications are an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- Minimum Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in Microsoft Power BI Administration.
