Microsoft PKI Engineer

We are seeking a Compute Consultant specializing in PKI and Certificate Administration to operate and support enterprise certificate services across on premises and cloud environments. This role is administrator focused, not a software developer position.

You will be responsible for the day to day management, lifecycle operation, renewal, troubleshooting, and controlled automation of both internal and external certificates, ensuring uninterrupted service availability and compliance with enterprise security standards.

This role partners closely with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to ensure certificates are issued, renewed, and rotated on time, with minimal manual intervention and operational risk.

• 5–8+ years in compute, infrastructure, or systems administration.

• 3–5+ years hands on experience managing PKI and certificate services.

• Strong operational experience with:

o Certificate issuance and renewals

o Internal and external certificates

o Enterprise infrastructure environments

Technical Skills (Administrator-Level)

• Solid understanding of:

o X.509 certificates

o TLS / HTTPS

o Certificate chains and trust models

• Experience administering Microsoft AD CS and/or enterprise PKI tools.

• Hands on experience deploying certificates to:

o Windows/Linux servers

o IIS, Apache, Nginx

o Load balancers or reverse proxies

• Familiarity with certificate tooling such as:

o Venafi, Keyfactor, AppViewX, DigiCert, Sectigo (any one or more)

• Working knowledge of:

o PowerShell and/or basic Python or shell scripting

o ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
