Role Description This full-time, on-site Microbiologist role is based in Mandaue City, Cebu and involves performing routine and specialized microbiological analyses in a laboratory setting. The Microbiologist will prepare samples, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and conduct tests to identify and quantify microorganisms in accordance with standard methods and client requirements. The role includes documenting results accurately, interpreting data, and contributing to technical reports to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The Microbiologist will follow strict safety and quality control procedures, participate in internal audits, and collaborate with colleagues to improve laboratory processes and workflows. The position may also involve supporting method development, troubleshooting test issues, and communicating findings to internal teams and clients as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Microbiology, with experience applying microbiological techniques to testing and analysis.
  • Proficient Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, aseptic techniques, and data recording.
  • Hands-on experience with Laboratory Equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, microscopes, and analytical instruments.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control procedures for validating results and ensuring consistency of laboratory testing.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance principles and regulatory standards relevant to laboratory operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain detailed documentation, and meet turnaround times.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a laboratory environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in an accredited testing laboratory or similar regulated setting is preferred.
