The Account Officer – Microfinance is responsible for achieving branch loan booking targets, managing loan application processing, maintaining portfolio quality, and supporting collection activities. The role also supervises Field Credit Associates (FCAs) to ensure effective marketing, customer service, and collection performance.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Marketing
- Achieve assigned loan booking and portfolio growth targets.
- Assist walk-in clients and prospective borrowers with product inquiries and loan applications.
- Conduct product orientations and marketing activities within and outside bank premises.
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to expand the branch's client base and generate quality loan leads.
Loan Processing and Credit Evaluation
- Process and evaluate loan applications in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Gather, review, scan, and upload client documents and requirements.
- Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) validation for new and repeat loan applicants.
- Perform field visits to verify business operations, inventory, and client information.
- Analyze borrower capacity and creditworthiness and provide recommendations for approval.
- Coordinate loan booking and release activities to ensure timely processing.
Portfolio Management and Collections
- Monitor loan portfolio quality and ensure compliance with the Bank's Portfolio at Risk (PAR) targets.
- Discuss payment arrangements and collection strategies with clients.
- Coordinate collection arrangements and endorse delinquent accounts to the appropriate remedial unit when necessary.
- Support collection efforts through client visits and follow-up activities.
Team Supervision and Performance Management
- Supervise and monitor the activities of Field Credit Associates (FCAs) in marketing, collections, and client servicing.
- Review and validate collections handled by FCAs.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of customer service.
- Address operational issues and provide guidance to team members.
- Evaluate FCA performance and recommend developmental actions to improve productivity and effectiveness.
Reporting and Administrative Support
- Prepare and submit required microfinance and portfolio reports.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
