Job Description

The Merchandising, Selling Supervisor is tasked to oversee and manage merchandising activities. This role involves coordinating merchandising efforts, managing schedules, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations. He/She should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, customer service, managing and training the staff.

  • Coordination: Oversee the daily coordination of merchandising activities, including product displays, stock levels, and promotional setups. Ensure alignment with company standards and marketing strategies.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage schedules for merchandising staff to ensure adequate coverage and timely execution of tasks. Adjust schedules as needed to address business needs and staffing levels.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports, maintaining inventory records, and handling correspondence. Ensure all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date. Monitors attendance of Sales Clerks and Stock Clerks and manages absences by re-assigning tasks to remaining staff (manage plantilla, leaves, issue violation reports).
  • Team Support: Provide support and guidance to merchandising team members. Facilitate training and development to enhance team performance and ensure adherence to merchandising standards. Cascades to the selling team about individual sales targets, new offers & alert Category Merchandising Manager of product/promo problems (if any).
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to coordinate product deliveries, resolve issues, and manage stock levels. Ensure that product displays are updated according to seasonal or promotional requirements. Monitors current stock levels plus pending deliveries vs. sales trend to alert Category Merchandising Managers of possible stock-outs and slow-moving items. Inspects items for transfer or Return to Vendor (RTV) to ensure correctness of product type and quantity, processes in Merchandise Management System (MMS) and signs the required documents.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales data and merchandising metrics to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements. Utilize insights to optimize merchandising strategies and maximize sales performance. Manages the operating budget of the department by ordering the right number of supplies, monitoring use and safekeeping extra items.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in merchandising, retail management, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role. OR fresh graduates that has the keen interest and passion in retail management.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate activities efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
