Position Summary:
The AVP - Merchandising leads the strategic planning and execution of product assortment, pricing, inventory, and vendor management to drive sales and profitability across all retail channels. This role ensures alignment of merchandise strategies with consumer demand, market trends, and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies for hardware categories (tools, construction materials, home improvement, etc.).
- Oversee product lifecycle management including assortment planning, pricing, and promotions.
- Analyze market trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor activities to inform decisions.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure cost-effective sourcing.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with operations, supply chain, and marketing teams for smooth execution of merchandising plans.
- Implement visual merchandising standards in-store to enhance shopper experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
- At least 810 years of experience in merchandising within the hardware or retail industry, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of hardware product categories and consumer needs.
- Proficient in retail systems, inventory management tools, and sales analytics.
