ASSISTANT MERCHANDISE PLANNING AND CONTROL MANAGER

Job Summary

The Assistant MPCD Manager is responsible for supporting the execution, coordination, monitoring, and governance of merchandise planning and control activities for the company's retail fashion brands.

The role supports the MPCD Manager in ensuring timely execution of merchandise planning activities including sales analysis, forecasting coordination, inventory monitoring, markdown implementation, replenishment planning, allocation execution, merchandise reporting, and inventory productivity management.

The Assistant MPCD Manager oversees the day-to-day operational flow of the MPCD team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of reports, planning tools, inventory analysis, and merchandise operational requirements.

The role also acts as a key coordination point between MPCD, Ecommerce, Warehouse, Creatives,

Production, Store Operations, Marketing and other business units to ensure proper execution of

merchandise plans, inventory activities, and seasonal launch requirements.

Skills and Competencies

  • Background in Merchandising, Retail Planning, Inventory Management, or related business functions
  • Strong analytical and inventory management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and merchandise analysis
  • Knowledge of merchandise planning, allocation, forecasting, and retail reporting
  • Ability to analyze sales, inventory productivity, and merchandise performance trends
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and monitoring skills
  • Good leadership and cross-functional communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong validation and review capability
  • Ability to manage multiple reports, timelines, and operational priorities
  • Team player with strong problem-solving capability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field
  • At least 3–5 years experience in merchandising, merchandise planning, inventory analysis, retail operations, or related functions
  • Supervisory or team coordination experience is an advantage
  • Experience in retail, apparel, fashion, or FMCG industry is preferred
