Division Merchandising Manager – Prescription Products (Ethical, Injectables and IV Fluids)
Job Summary
The Division Merchandising Manager (DMM) for Prescription Products is responsible for the strategic planning, sourcing, merchandising, pricing, inventory management, and financial performance of the prescription medicines category. The role ensures the availability of the right products at the right stores and right time while maximizing sales, gross profit, inventory efficiency, and customer satisfaction in compliance with applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop and execute annual category plans aligned with company sales and profitability objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activities, healthcare developments, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
Merchandise Planning & Assortment Management
- Determine optimal product assortment by store format, trade area, and customer demographics.
- Lead product selection, rationalization, and lifecycle management.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build strategic relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms, rebates, promotional support, payment terms, and supply agreements.
Inventory Management
- Optimize inventory investment, stock availability, and inventory turnover.
- Monitor sell-through rates, stock aging, expiry risks, and replenishment effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to FDA regulations, pharmaceutical trade requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain compliance with prescription drug merchandising standards.
