MEP BIM Coordinator (Revit, Mechanical Engineer)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MEP Team Leader to lead a small team of BIM Modelers in delivering high-quality digital representations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for international building projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines, maintaining BIM standards, and driving innovation in model-based design and construction documentation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM360, and a strong understanding of both local and international codes and standards. You'll be responsible for overseeing model development, clash detection, documentation, and BIM strategy implementation across multiple projects.

This position will operate under our Global Design Services International Market Line.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Supervise and mentor a team of MEP BIM Modelers.
• Allocate tasks, review outputs, and ensure timely delivery of BIM deliverables.
• Facilitate cross-disciplinary coordination with architects, structural engineers, and project managers (both local and international).

Model Development & Management

• Create and manage detailed 3D models of MEP systems using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Integrate design inputs and site data to ensure model accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain and update BIM models throughout project lifecycle.

Clash Detection & Resolution

• Conduct clash detection using Navisworks and BIM360
• Generate clash reports and collaborate with design teams to resolve conflicts
• Document resolutions and update models accordingly

Documentation & Compliance

• Extract 2D drawings, schematics, and details from 3D models for construction documentation
• Ensure all models comply with project-specific BIM standards and protocols
• Support QA/QC processes related to BIM outputs

Project Support & Analysis

• Assist in scheduling, cost estimation, and material tracking using BIM tools
• Provide technical input during design reviews and client presentation.

Library & Standards Management

• Maintain and expand the BIM content library, including custom families and templates
• Contribute to the development and refinement of internal BIM standards and workflows
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required).
• 5 - 8 years of technical experience in MEP BIM coordination and modeling.
• Revit MEP (required), Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM360.
• Familiarity with local and international codes and standards.
• Prior experience in a consulting environment with MEP design responsibilities.
