This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is hiring a Medical Virtual Assistant on behalf of a therapy practice to support patient scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and front-office coordination. Key Responsibilities

Patient Scheduling & Front Desk Support

  • Schedule new patient evaluations and follow-up appointments

  • Manage appointment calendars and confirm upcoming visits

  • Handle patient inquiries via phone and email as needed

  • Coordinate schedules with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Insurance Verification & Authorizations

  • Complete insurance eligibility checks and benefit verification

  • Obtain and track prior authorizations

  • Update patient insurance information accurately in the EMR

  • Explain insurance benefits and coverage details when needed

  • Liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage and authorization requirements

  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of authorization status

Administrative & Team Support

  • Answer phone calls related to scheduling and insurance inquiries

  • Maintain patient records with attention to accuracy and confidentiality

  • Support clinic operations to help increase overall patient volume

  • Work collaboratively with the team and demonstrate strong team-player qualities

Requirements

  • Experience with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and prior authorizations

  • Comfortable answering phone calls in a professional healthcare setting
