Medical Scribe

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scribe for a full-time, remote position supporting a physician in Visalia, CA. The successful candidate will be a critical partner in the clinic's operations, responsible for real-time scribing during patient encounters, meticulously preparing and scrubbing patient charts, and managing all medication requests, including sending prescriptions and processing prior authorizations. This fast-paced role requires a mandatory healthcare background and exceptional accuracy to ensure the highest level of patient care and physician efficiency.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Visalia, California, with a 1-hour lunch break; Full-time, 40 work hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Act as a real-time scribe for the physician during patient encounters, documenting the patient's history, physical exam, and treatment plan directly into the EMR.
• Prepare and scrub patient charts in advance of appointments, ensuring all lab results, scan reports, and other necessary data are compiled and ready for review.
• Process and send new prescriptions and refills to pharmacies as directed by the physician.
• Initiate and manage medication prior authorization requests with insurance companies.

Requirements:

• A healthcare or medical background is required.
• Proven experience as a Medical Scribe or a similar role (e.g., Medical Assistant with heavy charting/scribing duties).
• Strong and accurate understanding of medical terminology.
• Critical-level attention to detail, especially for documentation and medication management.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
