Job Description

Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Ensure proper coding of claims to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials.
Stay updated with coding guidelines and regulations, including CPT, HCPCS, and insurance rules.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures to ensure accurate coding.
Conduct audits of coded records to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Health Information Management or related field
Experience Level: 3-5 years of experience in medical coding
Skills and Competencies: Medical Coder License, CPC / CIC certification, solid understanding of CPT & HCPCS coding systems
Qualities and Traits: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills
Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices and participate in ongoing education
