What is the job

The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible in managing end-to-end billing and claims follow-up for behavioral health services. This role ensures accurate claim submission, timely reimbursement, and compliance with payer requirements.

• Prepares, reviews, and submits accurate insurance claims for behavioral health services.

• Performs claims follow-up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely reimbursement.

• Investigates and resolves denied or rejected claims, including filing appeals as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in medical billing with exposure to behavioral health and claims follow-up.

• Experience in behavioral health billing with strong focus on claims follow-up.

• Demonstrates strong understanding of revenue cycle processes, including claim submission and denial management.
