Are you an experienced Medical Biller with a passion for supporting children and families Our client, a dynamic and compassionate practice offering speech, occupational, and physical therapy services, is looking for a dedicated full-time Medical Biller to join their team! As a core member of the administrative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate billing and reimbursement across a variety of payers.

As a Medical Biller, you will handle all aspects of billing for speech, occupational, and physical therapy services. You will support a team of dedicated therapists and staff by managing claims, verifying insurance, following up on unpaid or denied claims, invoicing patients, processing payments, and ensuring compliance. Your role will be integral in improving efficiency, reducing administrative burdens, and ensuring timely reimbursements.

Responsibilities

  • Claims Submission: Prepare and submit insurance claims for speech, occupational, physical, and mental health therapy services.

  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before scheduling appointments.

  • Billing Follow-Ups: Track unpaid claims, appeal denied claims, and follow up on outstanding payments.

  • Patient Invoicing: Generate and send invoices for co-pays, deductibles, and private-pay services.

  • Payment Processing: Record payments from insurance companies and patients into the system.

  • Billing Reports: Create reports on claims status, outstanding balances, and revenue tracking.

  • Authorization Management: Ensure necessary prior authorizations are obtained and up to date.

  • Communication with Families: Answer billing-related questions from parents and caregivers.

  • Coordination with Staff: Collaborate with therapists and administrative staff to ensure accurate billing and documentation.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate billing records.

  • Delaware Medicaid Claims Entry: Manually input claims into the Delaware Medicaid system, ensuring accuracy with CPT codes, modifiers, units, and provider info.

  • Billing Follow-Up: Track outstanding claims, resolve issues with Medicaid and private insurance companies, and appeal denials when necessary.

  • Payment Reconciliation: Compare EOBs with submitted claims to ensure correct payments and resolve discrepancies.



Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical billing, preference for experience in therapy-related services (Speech, OT, PT, Mental Health, etc.).

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Google Workspace (Meet, Sheets, Docs, Keep) and billing software such as Heno-EMR, Navinet, Availity, and Office Ally.

  • In-depth understanding of insurance verification, claims submission, and billing processes.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with families and providers.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
