Medical Biller
Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to manage insurance claim submissions, payment posting, denial follow-ups, and patient billing. The ideal candidate has experience with healthcare billing processes, insurance claims, and payment reconciliation, with a strong focus on accuracy and timely reimbursement.
Schedule:
Part Time | 9AM-1PM EST | 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Review claims for accuracy, including patient data, diagnoses, and procedure codes
- Submit claims on time to the correct primary, secondary, and tertiary payers
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims, including appeals and resubmissions
- Generate patient statements and invoices, including prior payments and remaining balances
- Reconcile claims billing reports
- Post payments to the correct line items when received
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a medical biller, insurance billing specialist, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of healthcare claims, billing processes, and payer submission workflows
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing claims and billing records
- Experience with denials, appeals, and resubmissions
- Ability to communicate billing details clearly and professionally
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple billing tasks independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with medical coding and claims processing
- Experience working in healthcare or revenue cycle environments
- Knowledge of insurance billing, reimbursement, copayments, and deductibles
- Experience with billing systems, patient statements, and payment reconciliation
