Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you'll serve as the digital front door to a thriving medical practice, combining healthcare expertise with virtual administration. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize modern healthcare technology while making a meaningful impact on patient care. You'll work remotely while maintaining direct connection with patients and supporting critical healthcare operations.
Schedule: 40 hours/week (Mondays - Thursdays from 8 AM - 6 PM EST
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Check behind Medical Assistants and Front Desk team to ensure tasks completed properly
- Lab, EKG, body composition analysis uploads
- New patient intake, medical records request and new patient forms receipt
- Verify patient demographics and insurance correct in EHR
- Review no show and late cancellations emails against EHR schedule
- Patient responsibility emails
- Call new patients scheduled for the following week to remind them of upcoming appointments
- Upload ID and insurance cards and enter insurance information into EHR
- Collect records from EHRs and faxes; upload to patient charts
- Manage prior authorizations
- Serve as backup on patient phone calls to the office
- Process video visit copays, send ABNs to patients
- Create reports as needed (referrals, etc.)
- Check med lists, problem lists, billing data, EKGs dates, lab dates, etc
Required Experience:
- Nursing background (LPN, RN or similar)
- Electronic health records (EHR) experience
Preferred Experience:
- AdvancedMD experience (EHR)
