We are hiring a Mechanical Technician whose role mainly focuses on supporting our Mechanical Design Engineers in the development and fabrication of prototype parts for Lexmark & Xerox laser printers that are under development.

Your typical day will include:

  • Planning work procedures, machine operations and setups (CNC, Lathe and Mill).
  • Reviewing and working on engineering drawings, diagrams, sketches, and models in the fabrication of parts, tools and fixtures.
  • Creating schedules for machining/rapid prototyping job requests.
  • Operating CNC machine
  • Operating conventional machines (Lathe, Mill, etc.).
  • Operating rapid prototyping machines (SLA, 3D Printer, Vacuum Casting, etc.).
  • Ensuring high quality of fabricated parts in conformance to D.E specifications.
  • Performing inventory of consumables, materials and tools.
  • Maintaining shop laboratory safety and good housekeeping.
  • Keeping tools and equipment in good condition by ensuring daily and routine maintenance.

We'd like to invite you to join our team if you have:

  • Knowledge of Fabrication and Rapid Prototyping techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in operating 4 or 5 axis CNC Machines.
  • Knowledge and experience in the set-up and operation of Conventional Machines such as Lathe, Milling, Bandsaw, Drill Press, and other metal working machinery and hand tools.
  • Knowledge in material properties of engineering plastics, foams and metals.
  • Basic knowledge in the set-up and operation of Rapid Prototyping machines such as SLA (Stereo Lithography Apparatus), 3D printers and Vacuum Casting machines.
  • Basic knowledge and/or experience in Silicon Molding process and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge in Design for Manufacturability techniques.
  • Basic knowledge in CAD-CAM translation.
  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology or a graduate of a vocational program with specialization in Machine Shop, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics.
