Position Summary:
The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the following Key Performance areas:
- Perform preventative and corrective Mechanical maintenance activities as per plant safety regulations, preventative maintenance plans and maintenance procedures.
- Attend planning and liaison meetings.
- Attends to equipment care and personal safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience at least 3 years as a Mechanical Technician, Skilled Mechanic or equivalent in a similar power plant or heavy industrial environment.
- Holds technical skills certification such as Pipe Fitting, Machinery Installation/Alignment/Repairs, Welding Technology, Valve Repairs, Conveyor Maintenance. Graduate of any vocational, 4-year or Engineering course related to mechanical is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery commonly found in power plants, such as turbines, generators, pumps, valves, compressors, etc.
- Strong understanding of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods. Proficiency in reading technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and alignment tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other technicians and engineers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to accurately document maintenance activities and reports.
