Mechanical Design Engineer Piping & Tank Systems

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and analysis of piping systems, storage tanks, and mechanical assemblies. This role requires proficiency in creating GA drawings, conducting stress analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop piping systems and storage tanks for industrial and process applications.

Generate and review GA drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Plant 3D).

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, and electrical engineers.

Prepare technical documentation including design reports, material specifications, and calculation packages.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).

Support procurement and construction teams with technical clarifications and design updates.

Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and client meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in piping and tank systems.

Proficiency in CAD software and stress analysis tools.

Strong understanding of mechanical codes and standards.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in industries FMCG, Food, Frozen Food, chemical processing, or water treatment.

Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks, Revit).

Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and material selection for pressure vessels and piping.

Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools.

Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification. TBD

Experience working with international codes and standards (e.g., EN, ISO).

Strong project documentation and reporting skills.
