Performs every removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems of the trucks
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment including but not limited to: lubrication and oil changes, brake, wheel, tire and battery services, belt, hose, headlight, and basic component replacement
Performs basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems
Assesses trucks condition by conducting daily inspections to accurately diagnose and to work on repair issues
Keeps equipment available at all times for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems during preventive maintenance schedule
Maintains equipment and truck records by recording services and repairs
Leads in the actual rescue of trucks due to delays encountered
Ensures that all reports should be with the knowledge and approval of the department/business unit head and/or designate
Helps and coordinates with Mechanic in the daily inspection and checking of Trucks
Report any findings from the fleet checking that needs immediate inspection
Summarizes result of daily inspection checklist
Fully adheres to the companys code of discipline Performs other tasks that the Head Mechanic and/or Trucking Head may assign from time to time
Qualifications
Graduate or Undergraduate of any Automotive course
Knowledgeable in Wing-Van Truck units
Capable of performing routine Preventive Maintenance
Capable of conducting Fleet Checking prior to dispatch of unit
