About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Master Data Management Specialist to own engineering change requests (ECOs) end-to-end inside a US-based remanufacturing operation. Working primarily in SyteLine, you'll handle BOM updates, routing changes, and item master edits, and support the approval cycle on larger, multi-stakeholder changes. You'll work independently on most requests and coordinate directly with requesters across production, quality, and engineering.
What You'll Do
Change Request Processing
- Review incoming minor change requests (typically a single item number—a BOM field update, routing change, or item master edit) submitted via the current workflow tool
- Validate request details, confirm the requester's intent, and implement the change directly in SyteLine
- Correct simple, true-mistake errors (e.g., a mistyped item number) without escalation
- Support major change requests (larger-scope work like updates across many BOMs or moving production between lines), coordinating with the approval group once a change is ready to implement
Prioritization & Triage
- Judge urgency using the request's details, comments fields, and any established triage criteria
- Escalate when high-priority requests conflict or urgency is unclear
- Build familiarity with requesters over time to proactively flag time-sensitive work
Systems & Process
- Learn and operate within SyteLine, starting in the sandbox/training environment before handling live requests
- Work with system configuration and workflow tools, and be open to learning a new ERP/ITSM tool as processes evolve
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude) to troubleshoot system or workflow issues
Communication & Escalation
- Communicate with requesters (production supervisors, quality techs, engineering coordinators) via Microsoft Teams or email to clarify details before making a change
- Proactively follow up on open items—don't let them go stale
- Escalate immediately, rather than guessing, when a request is unclear or priorities conflict
As the Function Grows
- Look for ways to improve the change-request process, not just process ECOs
- Support configuration, troubleshooting, and workflow migration work as tools evolve
What We're Looking For
Non-Negotiables
- Experience with ERP/PLM systems
- Working understanding of data structures and configuration management—not developer-level, but structurally sound
- Very strong attention to detail, especially with BOMs, routings, and item master data
- Strong troubleshooting skills (e.g., step two worked but step four didn't, so the issue is at step three)
- Strong written and verbal communication—able to translate a conceptual request into the correct practical change
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when and how to escalate
- Strong follow-up discipline
- VPN-capable and comfortable with standard remote-access and security requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- SyteLine experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with system configuration and workflow tools (e.g., Power Automate, FreshService)
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to troubleshoot
- A process-improvement mindset and interest in supporting configuration and workflow migration work
- Flexibility across a range of personalities and communication styles
