Role Overview

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing performance-driven marketing campaigns, writing conversion-optimized copy, and coordinating projects across the marketing team. Working closely with the Marketing Head and Lead of Brand & Communications, this person will handle day-to-day campaign execution, optimize content for search and conversion, manage email marketing, and coordinate deliverables across team members and agencies. This role requires someone with performance marketing fundamentals, SEO knowledge, analytical skills, and excellent copywriting ability.

Campaign Execution & Coordination

  • Execute marketing campaigns across channels including but not limited to social media posting, email deployment, and website content updates.
  • Manage the marketing calendar to ensure timely execution of campaigns, content, and deliverables across the team.
  • Coordinate campaign logistics including asset collection, timeline tracking, and cross-functional handoffs between internal teams and agency partners.
  • Track project status and proactively flag delays or blockers to keep campaigns on schedule.

Performance Copywriting & Conversion Optimization

  • Write and optimize conversion-focused copy for campaigns including ad copy, landing pages, email sequences, and promotional materials designed to drive leads and sales.
  • Apply conversion rate optimization principles to improve copy performance through A/B testing, messaging variations, and customer journey optimization.
  • Analyze copy performance using data and customer insights to continuously refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with the Lead of Brand & Communications to ensure all performance copy aligns with brand voice and guidelines while maintaining focus on conversion goals.

SEO Execution & Content Optimization

  • Execute SEO best practices through keyword research, on-page optimization (i.e., meta descriptions, title tags, headers, internal linking, etc), and content structure.
  • Conduct keyword research to identify high-intent search opportunities and optimize existing pages for organic search visibility and conversion.
  • Write SEO-optimized content for landing pages, website copy, and blog posts that balances search performance with user experience.
  • Monitor organic search performance using Google Search Console and Analytics, identifying optimization opportunities and tracking keyword rankings.

Agency & Team Coordination

  • Coordinate with agencies and vendors on asset delivery, campaign timelines, creative briefs, and execution support.
  • Support the Lead of Brand & Communications with campaign production logistics and deliverable tracking.
  • Serve as the operational bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring seamless campaign delivery.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and status updates for easy team visibility.

Email Marketing Execution

  • Build and deploy email marketing campaigns including newsletters, nurture sequences, and promotional emails optimized for engagement and conversion.
  • Manage email list segmentation and coordinate with CRM teams to ensure proper lead targeting and personalization.
  • Track email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and continuously optimize campaigns based on data.

Social Media Execution

  • Execute daily social media posting across platforms following the content calendar and creative direction from the Lead of Brand & Communications.
  • Schedule and publish social content created by the brand and design teams.
  • Track social media performance metrics and report on reach, engagement, click-through rates, and channel effectiveness.

Performance Tracking & Analytics

  • Monitor campaign performance using Google Analytics, Search Console, and marketing automation tools to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
  • Track key marketing metrics including website traffic, lead generation, conversion rates, and channel performance.
  • Provide regular performance updates to the Marketing Head with actionable insights and optimization recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Background

  • 4-5 years of experience in performance marketing, digital marketing, or growth marketing roles with hands-on execution across multiple channels
  • Strong performance copywriting skills with portfolio demonstrating conversion-focused content (ads, landing pages, emails, SEO content)
  • Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals including keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO basics, and content optimization for search
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and ability to translate data into actionable optimizations
  • Experience executing multi-channel marketing campaigns and managing project timelines
  • Comfortable with marketing tools including email platforms, social media schedulers, CMS platforms (Webflow/WordPress)
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and ability to optimize campaigns based on performance metrics
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and coordinate with external agencies
  • Self-starter who can execute independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple priorities
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through on deliverables and deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Agency or startup experience in performance/growth marketing
  • Experience in solar, sustainability, home improvement, or related industries
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms
  • A/B testing and conversion rate optimization experience
  • Experience with paid media platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads) for campaign coordination
  • Basic design skills or familiarity with design tools for simple content iterations
  • Event coordination or activation experience
