We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Manager / DPA to lead our fleet operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence across our vessels. This is a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for both shipboard and shore-based management, providing a critical link between vessels and top management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Designated Person Ashore (DPA), overseeing the Safety Management System (SMS) and acting as the primary communication channel for safety, environmental, and operational matters.
- Lead fleet operations, providing guidance on navigation, cargo handling, ship performance, and voyage optimization.
- Oversee audits, vetting, and regulatory inspections; ensure timely closure of findings and compliance with international standards.
- Manage marine department budgets, operational resources, and cost control measures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop marine personnel, maintaining high standards of competency, performance, and training.
- Provide technical leadership during marine incidents, emergency responses, and operational challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Master Mariner / Captain or equivalent marine license.
- 12+ years of sea-going experience, including 23 years as Master (preferably on tanker vessels).
- 57 years of shore-based ship management experience at supervisory or managerial level.
- Strong working knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, ISPS, STCW, and tanker industry standards (OCIMF).
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing both offshore crews and shore-based teams.
- Experience in tanker or oil & gas shipping operations highly preferred.
