Job Description
Enclustra is an innovative, dynamic and growing company with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and offices worldwide. We develop a product portfolio of FPGA-based electronic modules and FPGA-optimized IP solutions for industrial customers and research organizations. In parallel, we provide leading engineering services in FPGA system design, and in development of high-speed hardware, FPGA firmware and embedded software.
To strengthen our dynamic team in Singapore, we are looking for a new:
Manufacturing Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Support industrialization and production activities, including NPI builds, pilot runs, qualification lots and transition to serial production.
- Act as the first technical escalation point for EMS-related production issues.
- Apply hands-on experience in PCBA manufacturing and SMT assembly processes to investigate and resolve production problems.
- Perform structured failure analysis of production rejects, including SMT process defects, assembly-related defects and PCB fabrication issues.
- Investigate recurring electrical production failures, identify root causes and drive sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive yield improvement initiatives together with EMS engineering teams and monitor their effectiveness.
- Analyze production data, inspection results and recurring failure patterns to identify manufacturing-related weaknesses.
- Provide DFM feedback to Hardware Engineering based on practical manufacturing experience.
- Recommend improvements to pad geometry, footprint robustness, stencil design and other assembly-relevant layout parameters.
- Support Industrialization Readiness Reviews and ensure manufacturing readiness prior to serial release.
- Provide manufacturing input for ECOs, product maintenance and life-cycle management activities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented engineering changes through yield data, production feedback and recurrence indicators.
- Review and challenge EMS inspection data and technical feedback where required.
- Support Quality Management with supplier escalations, CAPA implementation and recurrence prevention.
- Build internal knowledge of critical manufacturing parameters and best practices for Enclustra products.
- Maintain close collaboration with Operations, Hardware Engineering, Quality Management, Life-Cycle Management, Product Management and external EMS partners.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential Technical Experience
- Hands-on experience in PCBA manufacturing, preferably in a complex electronics or EMS environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of SMT assembly processes.
- Experience with complex electronic assemblies and high-density PCBAs.
- Experience with BGA and QFN soldering technologies.
- Understanding of PCB fabrication, including HDI PCB manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of assembly-relevant layout parameters, pad geometry, footprint robustness and stencil design.
- Proven experience with yield improvement and manufacturing process optimization.
- Proven experience with structured failure analysis of production rejects and recurring electrical production failures.
- Strong root cause analysis skills, including methodologies such as 8D and 5-Why.
- Ability to interpret AXI/X-ray inspection results and critically assess EMS technical feedback.
- Experience bringing complex hardware products from development and industrialization into serial production.
- Practical experience providing DFM feedback to hardware design teams.
Industrialization & Production
- Experience with NPI, pilot builds, qualification lots and serial production release.
- Experience supporting industrialization and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Ability to identify and resolve manufacturing issues in collaboration with EMS partners.
- Experience working at the interface between external manufacturing and internal Hardware Engineering teams.
Quality & Supplier Management
- Experience with CAPA processes and recurrence prevention.
- Experience with technical supplier escalation and EMS performance improvement.
- Understanding of ECO and engineering change processes.
- Ability to follow corrective actions through to effective and sustainable implementation.
Personal Skills

- Analytical and structured approach to failure analysis and root cause investigation.
- Ability to act as a credible technical counterpart to EMS engineering teams.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- High level of independence, accountability and follow-through.
- Sound technical judgment when distinguishing between manufacturing process issues and design-related robustness issues.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, industrialization or a similar role.
- Equivalent practical experience in PCBA manufacturing engineering may be considered where supported by strong relevant industry experience.
