MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT OFFICER I (SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education preferably in Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Experience: Two (2) years of experience relevant to Sign Language Interpretation and to implementation of social welfare programs and services Exposure to social welfare residential-based and community based program implementation exposure to vocational rehabilitation or vocational skills training facilities.
Training: Eight (8) hours of relevant training on any of the following topical areas: orientation on vocational rehabilitation laws on persons with disabilities and sensitivities to persons with disabilities, effective communication skills for PWDS, Teaching Methodology (TM)
Eligibility: Career Service Professional)/2nd level eligibility
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Teaches vocational courses to the blind, deaf, disabled and special groups
Submits reports on evaluation of trainees in coordination with other rehabilitation workers
Prepares and introduces new improvised instructional aides, methods and devices
Administers periodic tests and evaluation to determine level of learning and performance of clientsrefers and /or admin isters trade tests recommendations to TESDA for proper licensure and eventual job placement
Taps resources to improve knowledge and skills for technology transfer to clients, advocates for support from other agencies for enhamcement of skills to MDOs
Prepares and submits assessment reports and other requirements
Monitors the implementation of programs and services provided, acts as resource person when requested
Escorts clients in all center activities such as White Cane Day and NDPR Week
Participates in all mandated activities requested like Nutrition Month, Woman's Month Celebration
Subtitute interpreter to deaf clients
Conduct exposure tour to commercial and industrial estabilishment once in a semester
Substitute instructor to supervise the clients if the instructor is absent or leave
Performs other related tasks.
