Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Managing Director / General Manager (MD/GM) serves as the highest-ranking executive officer of Data Lake, Inc., reporting directly to the Board of Directors and responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational management, financial performance, and sustainable growth of the organization. The role oversees all departments and business functions, ensuring alignment of corporate objectives, operational excellence, profitability, compliance, customer satisfaction, and organizational development. As the principal executive leader, the MD/GM drives business growth, establishes strategic partnerships, leads innovation and transformation initiatives, optimizes resources and processes, and represents the company in engagements with clients, government agencies, industry partners, and key stakeholders while ensuring the successful execution of the Board's vision and long-term business strategies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Executive Leadership and Corporate Management

  • Provide overall leadership and direction aligned with Board-approved objectives.
  • Lead the achievement of the company's mission, vision, strategic goals, and financial targets.
  • Establish company-wide priorities, performance standards, and operational expectations.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration across all departments and business units.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.

  • Mentor, guide, and evaluate department heads and senior leaders.

  • Monitor market trends, competition, technology developments, and growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
  • Strengthen market position, brand reputation, and competitive advantage.
  • Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and business sustainability.
  • Monitor organizational performance and adjust strategies as needed.

C. Sales, Revenue Generation, and Business Development

  • Oversee all sales and revenue-generating activities.
  • Provide strategic leadership to sales and account management teams.
  • Develop revenue growth and business expansion strategies.
  • Establish sales goals, targets, and customer acquisition plans.
  • Maintain executive relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Lead negotiations for major contracts and strategic agreements.

D. Marketing, Brand Management, and Corporate Communications

  • Oversee marketing, branding, communications, and customer engagement initiatives.

  • Direct public relations, media relations, and corporate communications efforts.
  • Monitor customer sentiment, market perception, and brand performance.
  • Support demand generation and customer acquisition campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency in corporate messaging and brand identity.

E. Operations and Service Delivery Management

  • Oversee operational performance, service delivery, and project execution.
  • Ensure efficient, scalable, and cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvements.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects, deployments, and services.
  • Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction.

F. Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation

  • Provide oversight of technology initiatives, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Align technology investments with business objectives.
  • Drive innovation through emerging technologies and process improvements.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, data governance, and technology compliance.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve performance and customer experience.
  • Align technology roadmaps with strategic priorities.

G. Financial Leadership and Resource Management

  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure sound financial planning and fiscal management.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Approve major expenditures, investments, and capital projects.
  • Ensure accurate financial controls and reporting.
  • Drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Present financial updates and recommendations to the Board.

H. Human Resources and Organizational Development

  • Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Establish performance management and leadership development programs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and results-oriented culture.
  • Support employee welfare, learning, and career development.
  • Ensure organizational structures support business growth.

I. Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Oversee corporate governance and risk management programs.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO, safety, and quality standards.
  • Establish controls to protect company assets and mitigate risks.
  • Lead business continuity and crisis management initiatives.
  • Ensure workplace health, safety, security, and environmental compliance.

J. Project Management and Organizational Execution

  • Oversee strategic and operational project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish project governance and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Resolve project issues, risks, and resource conflicts.
  • Promote effective project management practices.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives achieve measurable outcomes.

K. Partnerships, Stakeholder Relations, and Corporate Representation

  • Serve as the company's primary executive representative.
  • Build relationships with government agencies, regulators, customers, investors, and partners.
  • Develop partnerships that support long-term business growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events and executive engagements.
  • Strengthen corporate reputation and industry influence.
  • Lead strategic negotiations and stakeholder initiatives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive leadership experience in business management, operations, sales, business development, or executive management.
  • At least eight (8) years in a senior executive leadership role such as General Manager, Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Vice President, Country Manager, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth, operational excellence, profitability, organizational transformation, and strategic expansion.
  • Experience managing multiple departments, large-scale projects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors, government agencies, strategic partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Background in telecommunications, information technology, systems integration, satellite communications, managed services, or related industries is highly preferred.
