Reporting directly to the MBPS Service Delivery Function Lead for Investment Operations, the Middle Office Support lead is primarily accountable for leading the Trade Support, Cash Management, and Foreign Markets Onboarding teams in ensuring timely, accurate, and effective delivery of services in scope. Operational Support:
- Focus on function-specific strategic initiatives and business priorities, working toward a scalable and highly effective global business shared service.
- Take the lead role in assessing, handling, and resolving critical business and system issues raised during operations.
- Support ad-hoc analysis to identify root cause of production issues and develop timely solutions.
- As the Middle Office global function lead for MBPS, ensure team's adherence to best practices and promote process standardization where applicable.
- Collaborate and develop professional relationships with global function leads onshore, enabling feedback channels to align expectations and priorities.
- In partnership with the Business Units, define and periodically refresh service level standards across the domain and manage the achievement of KPIs as defined within the Service Level Agreements and Schedule of Services.
- Support and deliver on key transformation strategies of the group.
- Drive the sharing of ideas, fostering collaboration and innovation across the regional teams within the group.
- Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to management as well as to the business unit in a timely manner.
- Develop, cascade, and drive the long-term strategy and vision of the Investments group.
Leadership / Management:
- Provide managerial oversight of Middle Office Trade Support and Cash Management analysts in MBPS, including the prioritization and direction of their assigned work.
- Consult with MBPS Investments and Finance management as well as the Business Unit on business planning, direction, and identification of opportunities to reduce expenses and improve efficiencies.
- Drive the team in achieving its organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure consistent performance management of the team members - tasks include goal setting, career development discussions, performance appraisals and feedback.
- Ensure that job mapping and succession planning are in place to select, recruit, identify, and retain top talent in the team.
- Prepare operations metrics report as well as lead business reviews between the Business Unit and MBPS on a regular basis.
- Ensure that all S ervice Level Agreements and MBPS and Business Unit compliance standards are met at all times.
- Manage a growing team with responsibility for hiring, coaching, compensation, promotion, and performance management.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in accounting, finance, or business management. Recognized investment, finance, or accounting designation is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Middle Office functions (i.e. cash management, trade matching, settlements, and other related processes.).
- Strong people management experience (3+ years) to lead, manage and develop professional staff.
- In-depth understanding of the concepts surrounding Investments Operations particularly with regard to Middle Office Trade Support and Cash Management functions, buy-side experience is a plus.
- Possesses a fundamental understanding of investment transactions, trade lifecycle, and various asset classes.
- Good working knowledge in using Bloomberg and other pricing/data sources.
- General knowledge of life insurance and asset management business, audit methodologies, control frameworks, risk management techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial issues and concepts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Expert strength in facilitating and presenting in large group settings. Strong interviewing, influencing and negotiation skills across the organization.
- Experience in working in a broad Matrix organization listening and using influence to make an impact.
- Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.
- Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures, geographies and senior leadership. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

- Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. mastery of excel formulas and pivot tables is a must VBA is a plus).
- Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Project.
- Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
