Manager - Tax Advisory (Lawyer)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Tax Lawyer Manager to lead client engagements involving complex tax advisory, planning, and compliance matters. This role requires advanced knowledge of Philippine tax laws, experience in regulatory representation, and the ability to manage legal risk and provide strategic tax guidance to corporate clients. The position also involves supervising legal professionals and supporting business development initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical legal expertise, practical business sense, and strong team leadership skills in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients and lead the delivery of tax legal services, including structuring, due diligence, regulatory advisory, and audit defense.
• Provide high-quality legal opinions and advisory memos on complex tax issues, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and practical application.
• Handle engagements related to tax assessments, protest filings, refund claims, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments that impact clients, and advise on compliance strategies and planning opportunities.
• Lead the review of contracts, business structures, and transactions from a tax and legal compliance perspective.
• Supervise and mentor legal associates and junior managers, supporting their development and technical performance.
• Work cross-functionally with audit, advisory, and business units to deliver coordinated client solutions.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development to support business growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB or JD) must be a licensed lawyer in good standing.
• Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in tax legal advisory, including prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Deep understanding of Philippine tax code, BIR regulations, and relevant court decisions.
• Proven experience in handling tax audits, regulatory matters, and client-facing legal tax engagements.
• Excellent legal writing, analysis, and communication skills.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and team supervision experience.
