Manager of Finance

Job Description

If you are a Finance Manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, this gives you the chance to oversee the central invoice-to-pay and settlement accounting process for the purchasing of indirect materials and services within Emerson's centralized purchasing and payment process. In this role, you will be responsible for managing central financial accounting ledgers, including payables, balance sheets, intercompany funding accounts, periodic financial statements, and financial reports. You will also collaborate with enterprise and site or business unit financial leaders, controllers, regional finance and tax leaders, and project deployment resources to implement and align new businesses with centralized accounting and payment processes.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard Emerson's financial assets.
• Oversee financial reporting activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational and financial performance, and budget variances.
• Prepare, manage, consolidate, and deliver annual operating plans, budgets, and periodic financial statements.
• Ensure accurate monthly management accounts are prepared in accordance with published timetables and track progress towards Emerson annual procurement and operations budgets.
• Manage financial accounting ledgers, balance sheets, intercompany funding accounts, portfolios, and assets while supporting informed business decision-making.
• Oversee the management of balance sheets, portfolios and/or assets, ensuring that functions are fully informed and able to make appropriate decisions.
• Work with business and finance leaders to harmonize financial and accounting policies, implement global financial accounting processes, and support business process harmonization initiatives.
• Confer with Purchasing Operations, business unit financial controllers, and accounts payable teams to resolve payment and settlement discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Manage or lead the adoption of standard controls for activities such as contracting, requisitioning, invoicing, and payment in compliance with US GAAP and/or other statutory requirements.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or similar.
• 5-8 years of experience including senior or supervisory roles.
