About the Role
The Manager for Corporate Reporting & Tax Compliance oversees group-wide financial reporting, financial statement consolidation, and tax compliance across our residential and economic estate business units. Reporting directly to the Controller and managing a team of three direct reports, this position ensures full regulatory compliance with the BIR, PEZA, and statutory accounting standards while driving financial reporting accuracy for Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV).
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidated Financial Reporting: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statement submissions to AEV, including Indicative P&L, Consokit, Cashflow management, Variance Analysis, RPT schedules, NTFS schedules, and Workiva P&L statements.
- Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings: Direct all tax return filings, statutory reports, and Audited Financial Statements (AFS) to ensure complete alignment with BIR, PEZA, and corporate governance requirements.
- Audit & Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, BIR examiners, PEZA representatives, and internal AEV stakeholders during audits and regulatory examinations.
- Internal Controls & Process Enhancement: Enforce accounting policies and internal controls, monitor changes in IFRS and Philippine tax laws, and recommend workflow improvements to optimize reporting efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Cross-BU Collaboration: Supervise and mentor three direct reports in corporate accounting and tax compliance, while coordinating with finance teams across subsidiaries to streamline data submission.
Qualifications
- Education & License: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, financial consolidation, statutory reporting, and audit.
- Industry Background: Real estate, property development, or construction industry experience is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in IFRS, group consolidation principles, Philippine tax laws, BIR issuances, and statutory requirements for PEZA-registered entities.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, EAS), financial tools (Workiva), and advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas).
