The role

We're hiring a hands-on Management Accountant to own month-end across multiple entities, deliver sharp management accounts and board packs, and continuously improve our finance stack and processes. You'll partner with the CFO and Bookkeeper to keep the numbers tight, the insights crisp, and the business moving.

What you'll do

Run month-end close across multiple entities: reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany recharges.

Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with variance analysis to budget and prior periods.

Consolidate results across the group and produce board-ready reporting packs with clear, actionable commentary.

Maintain and improve our finance tech stack (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, Stripe, Mayday Recharger, Fathom, Syft) and streamline workflows.

Support compliance: BAS/GST, payroll reconciliations, and annual audit preparation (workpapers and schedules).

Track unit-level performancee.g., club/location profitability, membership trends, and cost allocationsand surface insights for growth decisions (e.g., new site rollouts).

Document and improve month-end processes and controls to ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Partner with entity leaders to translate financial results into actions (e.g., Hustle Agency utilisation & WIP hygiene; XtraClubs member retention & pricing; Supermercato margin mix & shrink).

What you'll bring

35 years management accounting experience, ideally within multi-site businesses (retail, fitness, real estate, hospitality, wellness or similar).

Strong Xero experience and familiarity with add-ons; Fathom/Syft or similar reporting tools a plus.

Solid understanding of intercompany accounting, loan balances, and cost recharges.

Advanced Excel for workpapers, analysis, and modelling.

CPA/CA qualified (or near completion).

Meticulous attention to detail; process-driven and calm under deadlines.

Excellent communication skillsyou can explain the why behind the numbers to non-finance stakeholders.

Tools you'll use

Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, Stripe, Mayday Recharger, Fathom, Syft, and good old Excel/Google Sheets.

What success looks like

By 30 days: Clean close calendar in place; entity reconciliations current; first consolidated pack delivered on time.

By 90 days: Month-end cycle reduced; variance narratives trusted by leadership; board pack automation (Fathom/Syft) embedded.

By 6 months: Robust intercompany and cost-allocation framework; location-level dashboards drive pricing, staffing, and rollout decisions.
